Two thousand passengers - and a killer - on board... November 1924. When a passenger is found dead on board the Endeavour as it sails from Southampton to New York, officer Timothy Birch is ready to declare it a tragic accident. He is tasked with escorting James Temple, a young Scotland Yard inspector, in a precautionary examination of the body. The investigation takes a sinister turn when they are led to the theft of a priceless painting, the existence of which is a closely guarded secret from all but its owner - and the dead man. With days remaining until the Endeavour docks in New York and the culprit walks free, Birch joins Temple in a desperate search for the stolen painting and the truth of the old man's death. But there are lies and secrets at every turn, and it seems that even Temple has just as much to hide as he does to uncover. The race is on to find the culprit. And all the while, the passengers continue to roam the ship with a killer in their midst...
