The Murder Game

alright read. pacing was quite slow in some places, but the writing style was okay and the twist I really didn’t see coming. lots of different character names to keep up with though, could be confusing sometimes especially seen as some of the plot threads were very important (some really were not lol). as a person interested in theatre, I quite liked how the actors in the story were portrayed and the characterisation was very good as all the characters seemed to be fleshed out at least partially.

overall, good if you like a classic murder mystery like some Agatha Christie but with more modern elements!

One house. Nine guests. Endless motives for murder... In the seaside town of Hamlet Wick, nine guests assemble for a New Year's Eve party to remember. The owner of Hamlet Hall has organised a murder mystery evening with a 1920s twist, and everyone has their own part to play. But the game has barely begun when one guest is found dead - killed by a fatal injury to the head. With no phone signal and no way out of the house, the others are trapped with a killer in their midst. Someone is playing by their own rules. And in a close-knit community, old rivalries run deep... Praise for Tom Hindle: 'A new heir to Agatha Christie...classic crime for the 21st century' Ragnar Jónasson 'Tricksy, expertly plotted and kept me guessing till the end' Adam Simcox 'A 1920s-themed murder mystery evening in a country house turns surprisingly realistic in this thriller from the bestselling author of A Fatal Crossing' Cosmopolitan 'Don't ask yourself whether to buy or not to buy this captivating mystery. it was an ok book. it took me a really long time to get into the book because the first 100 pages were absolutely nothing and i almost dnf’d it. but i gave the book a chance and it wasnt that bad. there were little twist of the characters but the main twist was easier to guess and i guessed it right.2.5 ⭐️
