It was dark and gore-y horror. I LOVED IT. But the stories were repeated with no explanation about why Tomie was the way she was. I have this feeling that Tomie's character was one of those stereotyped pretty girls who are always bitchy, too proud of their looks and that's why they meet a horrific fate as karma unfolds. I don't know much cause I've seen everyone loving Junji Ito so I hope I'm wrong. I've to read more about the author's thoughts on it before I can add anymore comment.

Otherwise I loved it. I noticed the nice guys didn't die horribly unlike those men who were full of lust.

tomie en general creo que es de los mejores trabajos de ito, tiene historias muy iconicas que son realmente buenas, tomie es un personaje muy interesante que siempre te deja queriendo más. no todas las historias están al nivel pero pues no se puede tener todo. mi único problema fue al intentar encontrarle el sentido a la cronología general de las historias, tiene ciertas inconsistencias que me sacan un poco de pedo pero de igual manera me gustó mucho.

I love this but it wasn’t as good as I expected it to be. It’s really good but definitely overhyped and not as disturbing as I wanted it to be until the last chapter. If you’re just getting into Junji Ito this is a good place to start but a lot of his other works are much better!

One of the more popular Junji Ito works and for good reason. Very long for an Ito story which is always a plus, and personally I found it to be one of the spookier ones. Would definitely reccomend.
