Each chapter involves an adventure in a different season: spring, summer, fall, and, winter. For the woman, the adventures are for the most part for self gratification; for the man, it's doing something to impress the woman.

Set around and within Kyoto University, this is a whimsical book about the various adventures of the titular Girl and her pining upperclassman that often diverge and intertwine with each other brought upon and influenced by a rapid succession of events and the people around them.  

I loved reading how their adventures escalate without being too convoluted or confusing: there are callbacks to earlier incidents and characters as you read on and I can’t help but wonder which fantastical journey will the Girl walk into next and how her upperclassman will try to walk along with and get her to notice him with varying degrees of success.

All in all, it’s such a fun and fast-paced read. The cast of interesting and quirky characters against the mundane backdrop of university should be jarring and confusing but it’s easy to just walk along with them and witness how their journeys and connections intersect with each other.

Mi interés por la cultura japonesa fue lo que me llevo a este libro, sin saber que hay adaptaciones varias de la historia. El estilo en el que esta escrito este libro es fácil y fresco. Tiene un estilo muy japonés, similar al que vemos en el anime o en el manga, por lo que es fácil visualizar la historia, sobre todo si eres consumidor de manga o anime. Hay varias referencias a literatura famosa, que pueden reconocerse. A mi no me gusto particularmente la historia en sí, aunque reconozco que posiblemente tenga que ver con el gusto personal.

This was pretty awful (the groping part), confusing and the writing was all over the show. I still don't know what the book wanted to portray exactly. 

The only thing this could be good for is a drinking game. Every time you read the word "drink" or "drinking" you drink. You won't stand a chance.

I'm a big Haruki Murakami fan and like the Nakano Thrift shop, but this is nothing like the Japanese writing that I like.
