Trigger Warning: sexual harrasment Such a cute rom-com about friendship! This is also a great story about judgmental people - remember, "never judge a book by its cover." Great short story that got me out of my reading slump! I enjoyed the potpourri of racially diverse characters that expands Czukas general audience: White teens. The humor is well-timed but not too heavy; overall not too heavy but still enforces Czukas' moral of her story. However I do wish she explained the thief's reason for stealing and why he stole that much. Wouldn't it also be illegal for an employer to hold minors for that long, including the cops taking FOREVER to arrive? I also wanted to know why minors are working during their school year. Most high schoolers only work over the summer. Yes, one character needs to but I didn't catch why the others needed to. But again, it's an enjoyable Christmas rom-com!

Entertaining, if massively cliche. It was a bit of a mindless read and I don’t think it’s very memorable, even though I enjoyed reading it.

I'm fully convinced that Liz Czukas can do no wrong.

Tyson looks at me. “You okay to bag for yourself?” I nod. “You bet. Go ahead.” Which, if he was psychi, he would know meant, Kiss Me. You probably wouldn’t know simply by looking at this (ADORABLE!!) cover that this entire story takes place on Christmas Eve. I just happened to pick it up at the perfect time. :) I adore reading books like this during the holiday season. The fact that it takes place on Christmas Eve is actually only referenced a few times and isn’t overdone at all. Since I worked retail when I was in high school, and I ALWAYS worked Christmas Eve, reading this book reminded me of those days loud and clear. And good, the bad, and the ugly at its worst. My favorite thing about this story – the lists!! I’m such a list-maker myself, so seeing all of Chloe’s lists brought a smile to my face. TEN MOVIES THAT MAKE ME WISH MY LIFE WAS MORE LIKE A MOVIE 1. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off 2. 10 Things I Hate About You 3. Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist 4. Pitch Perfect 5. The Princess Diaries 6. The Breakfast Club 7. Clueless 8. Sixteen Candles 9. Bring It On 10. Easy A Haha. Agreed. I also really enjoyed all the cooky characters this group of teens encountered while working at this grocery store. People in pajamas, gym gear, costumes, and the list goes on and on!! I won’t ruin it for you by telling you the funniest ones… you’ll have to read it for myself to see those. ;) Overall, a cute, fun story to read during the holidays. Especially if you have ever worked retail. You will definitely relate to these characters and the drama they encounter during their shifts. Also an added romance to spice things up made it even more enjoyable. A quick read to make you smile and help you pass the time on a chilly December day. :) (Thanks to HarperTeen for the review copy!) Find this review and others like it at Lost in Literature!
