Lit Chicks review to come!

Not usually my thing, but it wasn't bad at all.

3.9 stars i dnf this book back from the start of this year at 70%. i wanted to get this out of my way so i decided to pick up this book and continue it. honestly theres nothing wrong with it, the characters are fine and the plot was fine too. idk y i stopped reading it maybe bc i wanted to read other things in my tbr at the time.

New favorite read! Wow, I devoured this book in less than 2 days, and now I'm just sad that it's over. I've never read a book quite like it, and I only wish I could experience it again. The author did an amazing job of telling the story and ending it perfectly. Highly recommend! Would love to see a movie made.

4.5 stars

I really wanted to dislike this book. I mean, it’s two people stuck on an island after a plane crash. I loved LOST, but not for the island aspect. I feared this book would be like that Blue Lagoon remake. But, I read it because, honestly, I’m a sucker for May-December romances. On the Island is the story of TJ Callahan and Anna Emerson, a 16 year old cancer survivor and his tutor. Hired to help TJ catch up on the school he missed during treatment, Anna joins the Callahans on vacations in the Maldives. However, when their pilot has a heart attack mid flight, the plane carrying the two goes down over the ocean. They wash up on an island and must work together to survive. As the years pass, TJ grows into a man, and Anna notices (did I really just write that?). That doesn’t sound like something that wold appeal to me. Despite my love for May-December romances, I usually like the roles reversed. Older women and younger men creep me out and I don’t know why. The point is, I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Tracey Garvis-Graves paints a beautiful picture of survival, not only on the island, but with everything that comes with rescue. There were a few moments I wished the writing would go in a different direction, but overall, this was a great story. I’d definitely recommend it to a friend, and that’s not something I say often.

What a great story! Am I the only one who wishes they weren't rescued though? I thought is was much more romantic and exciting when they were on the island!

As seen on Caity Reads. I read this book in one sitting. I had picked the book up from the library earlier that day, and had been eyeballing it all day long. Even though I was already reading like four books at the time, I picked this up before bed one night. I did not stop reading the book until it was 6:30 in the morning and I had read the last page. I had heard so many fantastic things about it, through book blogs and booktube. That being said, I didn’t have huge expectations for it because of the relationship in it. If you are having doubts about this book because of the nature of the relationship in it, read the book anyway. I promise you it is not as bad as it sounds, and to me was completely understandable. I absolutely loved Tracey Garvis Graves writing style. It was fast paced, and so incredibly emotional. I cannot wait to read more by her. There is also a novella that goes along with this story, even though it is a standalone. When I found out, I was instantly doing the grabby hands motion. Unfortunately, my library does not have a copy of the novella and I’m trying not to buy books right now. (Trying and failing miserably.) Graves did a fantastic job of fleshing out our two main characters. They’re the only two we see for a good portion of the novel, and they felt so real. She did a very good job with the rest of the characters, later in the book; they also felt very real and had their own characteristics. As for the plot, I absolutely love survival stories; I’m a sucker for them, really. This was such a fast paced survival story and she did a fantastic job in executing the plot. She’s also very good at slapping you with the feels, which I enjoy. Overall, I would definitely recommend this. Even if you’re a little hesitant to pick it up, you should. I was definitely pleasantly surprised by this book. I will be picking up a copy for myself as soon as I have the extra money to do so. I also really, really want to read the companion novella.

My fave romantic book!!!!! Love the story and the persons!!

“I don't fit in your world." "Neither do I," he said, his expression tender yet resolute. "So let's make our own. We've done it before.” I have never read a book quite like this before. I'm absolutely wowed. I knew from the minute I started reading it that I would love it. It sucked me right in. Nothing was really a surprise, but the journey was the important part and the journey was beautiful. I'm not going to lie, I was a little put off by the thought of the age difference when I first read the blurb for this book. I wasn't sure if it would be something I would be comfortable reading about. It really wasn't an issue once I got immersed in the story. It wasn't creepy like I feared it might be. I loved Anna and T.J. They were both wonderfully complex and likable characters. The epilogue was fantastic. I still want more of these characters and their lives. ::contented sigh::

Beautiful and emotional story❤️ couldn’t put it down.

This book was so good. I fell in love right from the beginning. My emotions were all over the place. I would recommend this book to friends and family. It was a fast read and it was a great story.

As perfect and flawless as I had expected. :) *Full review to come.*
