The context / theme of this book is good . It's kind of disturbing at some points . The author criticises both the religion (not that I have a issue with) . Around the ending the characters of people is criticised and shows how people can be manipulated in the name of religion..

For a short book it just didn't feel like a short read . I feel like i just read a 500 page book .. the slow pacing is really a turn off .

A really interesting look at the rifts the Pakistan -India partition caused between those people who used to consider each other community; depicted through the experiences of the Sikhs of a village at the border of both countries. The book is a bit slow to start and the writing felt dry but the reality of the situation was painted accurately. In the end I really enjoyed the book.
