What can I say? Trenton Lee Stewart never fails to please. The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Prisoner's Dilemma is one of my favorites, and is also one of my favorites of the series. Not only do we finally get to learn about Constance's past, we see Mr. Benedict's narcolepsy and ridiculous green plaid suits disappear, and there's so much more about the Ten Men and Mr. Curtain, who frankly interested me the most. I always seem to love the evil characters, don't I? First of all, I despised Mr. Pressius. He was a perfectly well developed character, but he was also an idiot moneybag that lacked a brain, so I didn't like him. I have always liked the way Reynie figures things out, and his whole "brilliant" character always kept the story going. But I couldn't help wishing that there was more of everyone else (especially Constance). Sticky didn't appear much at all, really. Kate was always doing the wrong things at the wrong times. Constance was just grumping about, running wild, and sleeping. But Reynie did everything. And that's what bothers me: they're all supposed to do stuff, right? They're supposed to work together as a team. That's what made the first books so great. Otherwise, excellently written book packed with action and definitely recommended to all you humans! Read this and love it!

The last book for one of my favorite series as a kid. The infamous Mr. Curtain, Mr. Benedict's evil twin is up to no good again, with evil intentions for The Whisperer, and its up to the Society to stop him again. Trenton Lee Stewart's talent once again impressed me. The character's haven't lost their touch yet, after three books and I still find myself as fascinated by them as I was in book one. The story is fast-paced, full of adventure, tough times for their friendship and a little bit of rivalry. All in all, the story was great. Recommended for kids in 6th or 7th grade.
