Even though I absolutely loved this book, I feel like Goyer lost her way a bit with this conclusion.

After proceeding at such breakneck speed through the first two books, the pace struggled a bit here and there throughout the third. I think that was due in large part to the enormous amount of information that Goyer had left to reveal to bring the various story lines to adequate conclusion. It was almost as if she had let out the rope at just the right speed only to be left with a little too much in her hand by the end.

That being said, aside from a few stumbling blocks at the beginning (most of the hiccups in speed were confined to the first quarter of the book), Goyer continued to weave an absolutely captivating story.

I strongly recommend this book to any lover of history and historical fiction.
