With Visions of Red II Broken Bonds Two

Trisha Wolfe2021
Sadie: The UNSUB has made contact. After a rapid string of grisly murders shakes the usually peaceful city of Arlington, the sadistic killings of young women lull into a deceptive calm. Only I know the terror isn’t over; serial killers don’t stop until they’re caught. And this sadist has targeted me, revealing pieces of my dark past and weaving my secrets into each macabre crime scene. Is the killer someone from my past, or my present? Or is he part of a fated future I brought on myself? The answer lies within the riddle of the copycat killings—ones mimicked after the infamous Blood Countess. To protect myself and now the man I’m falling for, I have to be the one to solve this case, because the killer could be anyone…even him. Colton: I’ve been watching on the sidelines, waiting for my moment as tension brews within Sadie’s department awaiting the UNSUB’s next move. Sadie’s more than on edge—her deviant cravings have ratcheted out of control. I will protect my goddess, but I have my own twisted secrets that, as they come to light, threaten to unravel what we have together. It all ties together in the killer’s carefully constructed web.

This series is ADDICTING! It’s an incredibly fast read and I really enjoyed it. And even if the plot is sometimes a bit .. confusing, I’m having so much fun guessing who the unsub might be. Sometimes I‘d wished for a bit more depth and character development, but I loved the glimpse of emotions and the chemistry between the MCs. It’s spicy, but scenes are not used to cover up lack of plot and are still excellently dealing with consent and limits 👏🏼 I‘m satisfied 🌝

The choices we make define us. They demand action; whether we are ready or not. And for however long we weather the storm, our choices never stop haunting us.

“Love is fear,” I say, and she nods. “You’re right. We spend a lifetime fearing we’ll never find it, and when we do… if it’s real… we fear losing it. We fear making a mistake. We fear so much that it drives love away eventually.”

They say fear won’t kill you all by itself. But if ever it could, that’s the one to do it. It blocks out all logic and leaves no room for anything else. It devours love, and trust. It hollows out your soul.

It’s the worst kind of fear because there’s nothing you can do to make it stop. Just have to wait until the moment you’ve been dreading finally happens.

Then…the blackout.

The final abyss of grief.

This hit deep.

There are all types of fear, but I’m talking about bone-rattling, heart-gripping fear that catches you off-guard.

A deep, dark fear that levels them all.

Fear of loss.
