Breakfast at Tiffany's captured my imagination. It's full of oddball characters, wonderful descriptions and of course, New York City. There were a few times where it was obvious that the Penguin edition had swapped in some British slang and I had to just shake my head because it would be so out of character for the person speaking -- especially when it came out of Holly Golightly's mouth! Holly I pictured as a combination of Fey Ray and Marilyn Monroe even though I know Audrey Hepburn looked like neither but in the book, that's how she's written. She's a broken but oddly delightful character.
