Sejujurnya, saya membaca Twenty-Four Eyes tanpa ekspetasi apapun. Namun, begitu saya memutuskan menyelam dan tenggelam, dang! Benar-benar di luar ekspetasi saya. Alurnya begitu page turner dan mudah dibaca karena dibungkus oleh diksi yang begitu sederhana. Saya kira ini hanya akan menjadi sekedar cerita biasa; sekali baca langsung dijajah lupa, tapi ternyata tidak.

Buku ini memiliki karakter dan standar keunikannya sendiri. Diracik dengan begitu telaten dan apik. Komposisi yang sempurna—bahwa saya merasa begitu hampa dan kelabu setelahnya. Bittersweet. Kinda heart-warming and heart-wrenching at the same time.

It was a good read, the story flowed like a river and I found myself flipping through the pages non-stop without me knowing, especially when I was close to the end of this book. I thought that this book was all about Mrs. Oishi’s journey in teaching her pupils, but turns out I’m wrong, this book tells me more than that.
