Tuesday's Child

Tuesday's Child A Psychic Visions Novel

Dale Mayer2011
What she doesn't want...is exactly what he needs. Shunned and ridiculed all her life for something she can't control, Samantha Blair hides her psychic abilities and lives on the fringes of society. Against her will, however, she's tapped into a killer--or rather, his victims. Each woman's murder, blow-by-blow, ravages her mind until their death releases her back to her body. Sam knows she must go to the authorities, but will the rugged, no-nonsense detective in charge of tracking down the killer believe her? Detective Brandt Sutherland only trusts hard evidence, yet Sam's visions offer clues he needs to catch a killer. The more he learns about her incredible abilities, however, the clearer it becomes that Sam's visions have put her in the killer's line of fire. Now Brandt must save her from something he cannot see or understand...and risk losing his heart in the process. As danger and desire collide, passion raises the stakes in a game Sam and Brandt don't dare lose.

► Hey! I'm giving a 3-star rating to a book that isn't a total Meh Fest! Pretty amazing huh?! This one is actually pretty entertaining *gasps* ► You know what's even more surprising? I fully expected to dislike this. First of all it's a mystery, a genre I gave up on ages ago after years of bingeing on it. And no you are not dreaming, this is shelved as romantic suspense. Yes it is. And I read it. And didn't fall into a sugar shock-induced coma. And still gave it 3 stars. Please refrain from fainting. ► I'm a hate/love kind of girl so I rarely give 3-star ratings. It's usually 1/2 or 4/5. But I've read so many crappy books this year (I think my DNF graveyard is about to implode) that my perspective is starting to shift. Or maybe I just lowered my standards drastically. These days, if a book isn't pure crap and/or infuriating and/or stupid-stupid-stupid, that works for me. So even though this wasn't mind-blowingly amazing, I still enjoyed for what it was: a light, entertaining read. Damn. I'm becoming desperately reasonable and terrifyingly undemanding in my old age. This is so scary. I want my former self back. ► Anyway, the mystery is your standard serial killer story but it held my interest, probably because of the paranormal aspect of the plot. The romance *gasps again* wasn't too aggressive so I survived. The heroine isn't a total idiot. Neither is the male mc. There are interesting secondary characters. The book isn't badly written. I probably will have forgotten all about it in about month but it was enjoyable enough while it lasted. Plus it's free. What more do you want? ►► PS: if anyone would care to explain the book title, I'd be eternally full of grate ← yes, I KNOW I'm supposed to say "grateful" here. But I like "full of grate" better. So lighten up, you vocabulary freaks. I'm a non-native English speaker anyway. I can write any nonsense I like and blame it on my poor language skills. Ha.
