Author has issues of dragging out details that have little to no consequence in the story (atleast for the first book as I am yet to read the others in this series) and it feels as if each chapter was written in sessions where the author set a page goal rather than a story goal. 

This issue is less noticeable in the second half where I found it hard to put the book down.

I’ve tried to finish this book so many times and every time the same thing stops me: I don’t care. The protagonist is dull and unrelatable, the love interest is basically just a creepy wall for the heroine to project onto. The descriptions are hollow the plot is lacklustre and the dialogue is long winded. It’s like it was trying so hard to be mysterious it forgot to be good.

Ive become obsessed with this idea that edward is a religiously traumatized masochist who is drawn to the fact that bella's blood physically hurts him / he unconsciously sees this relationship as a way to exercise self denial and defeat himself (the monster). I love bella too, deeply alienated from humanity and romanticizing the idea of an existence separate from it. Cant stop thinking about them.

I'd never gave much thought to how I would die but dying at the hands of someone you love seems like a good way to go

just because it's one of my comfort reads doesn't mean it's a good book lol

WORST book I have ever read. Glorified fanfiction that a 13-year-old could have written better. Horrible, horrible stretched out plot, flat characters, complete Mary Sue protagonist. Just.. sucks. Sorry.

Świetnaa książka! Dużżo lepsza niż film , więcej się dzieje. Widać że bohaterowie mają uczucia i mocne charaktery , które są świetnie opisane. Bella jest ludzka i widać jak Edward jest dla niej ważny i jak bardzo nie wyobraża sobie bez niego życia. <br /><br />Na pewno będę kontynuowała ale chce się nią napawać :D

Having enjoyed the movie, I decided to dive into the entire Twilight Saga - and I’m so glad I did. The book is far better than the movie, offering a deeper, more intense look at the characters and their emotions. The writing pulls you into Bella and Edward’s world in a way the screen simply couldn’t capture. It’s addictive, mysterious, and undeniably captivating.

jsem neskutečně překvapená tím, jak moc se mi to actually líbilo. bála jsem se, že u toho budu trpět, nebudu chtít vůbec číst a strávím u toho minimálně tři měsíce, ale světě div se, je to první kniha tohoto roku, kterou jsem přečetla ani ne za sedm dní. bavila mě. velká písmena, čtivost, akce... tohle všechno byly veliký výhody za který jsem moc ráda. ani mi to nepřišlo tak strašně trapný jako ten film. musím vážně uznat, že Stmívání je jedna z nejlépe napsaných YA romantik co jsem zatím četla. i když měla Bella občas přeslazený řeči ohledně Edwarda, jako např. jeho andělský hlas a tvář, dokonalá pleť atd., pořád jsem to nějakým záhadným způsobem zvládala číst lépe než jiné zamilované příběhy.

I enjoyed this book as I'd recently re-watched the film, and I like to have the visualisation when reading a book that's been made into a film. As usual there is far more detail in the book, which I enjoyed, the book itself is not particularly well written in my opinion, but still readable if you enjoyed the films. I will read the remaining books in due course - I don't think I could cope with them one after the other!

The five star is literally for pure nostalgia and idc what anyone says  (this is a reread)
