Twisted Palace A Novel
Reviews

Such a great book and series! Hopefully we can get more stories from the Royals, I'm sure they have loads more drama to get into.

THIS BOOK OFFICIALLY HAS MY WHOLE HEART RTC

What. A. Journey! This entire series was just an incredibly fun ride! This book especially was lots of fun! I loved everything about it but the only reason I gave it 4 stars was because I called the mystery about halfway in. So then I had to wait for my suspicions to be confirmed and it was torture! The plot takes places immediately after Broken Prince so I won't delve too much into it. I don't want it to get spoiled. There will be a section that I will mark with spoiler tags so read that part at your own risk. So instead I'm going to talk about the characters and their growth. We get the POV of Ella and Reed again. You can see the changes happening in both of them in the few short months these books span over. Ella has tamed her flight response, which I saw as a good thing. It annoyed me that when things go south, she just takes off. I get that she was had to grow up too fast and learned to run but it was just frustrating for the reader. She tried to run a few times but realized that she needed to stay and fight. Just everything about her really pleased me. Reed changed too. Yes, he still have some pretty wicked anger issues that he needs to get help for but he really started to soften. I felt so bad for him. He simply was trying to do the best he could under the circumstances that happened. I didn't like that he tried to push Ella away again but luckily, since Ella grew up, she wouldn't let him. But I understood why he was doing it. (view spoiler)[ I have to go rant about Steve. When he came back, everything about him was just off. He just felt so two sided to me. I didn't like how he barged into Ella's life and tried to be a dad. Yes, he is her dad but he didn't even know she existed until nine months ago. And then he was just going to let Reed take the fall for the murder he committed?! Oh, I was so mad when I had my suspicions confirmed. Ella doesn't deserve that and neither did Reed. (hide spoiler)] I really did enjoy this series, as I stated. I think it was a good book about growing up and owning up to mistakes. I still stand by my claims that this is NOT a YA book. Fight me about it if you will but it's just a bit too graphic. I still would recommend it to everybody but as long as they are over 18. This series is going to stay with me for a long time. And I will surely be checking out the author's other works.

4.5 stars I insanely loved reading all three of these books! So sad to see this series end because I could never get enough of the Royals and would gladly read more books... PLEASE I NEED MORE I already miss them and their beautifully dysfunctional family. I think I read that they're planning on writing Easton's book sometime, that would be amazing! He is one of my favorites. I'm dying to get his perspective and know what he's been thinking this whole time. For anyone who has not read these books give it try; they're highly addictive, fast paced, filled with lots of emotions, and completely unputdownable. Even though this is my least favorite in the series I still enjoyed every second. I think it had some pacing issues, some parts slowed down more than I would like and the ending felt quite abrupt for the amount of stuff that happens. Still this is closer to 5 star than a 4 star because despite the minor issue I had it was still completely addictive.

I wasn't as blown away as in book 2, but captivated nonetheless

*3.5

Damn it! I need the 4th book ASAP! Although, I would have been happy if this was the end of the series. The story was outstanding! Somehow this book made me laugh out loud in some chapters and others made me pull out my hair and gasp frequently. I loved the plot twist, I liked the idea of bringing back Steve but God I hated him from day 1. I’m afraid to find out what the author has done with all this broken people in the next book. They’ve had enough. I’ve had enough. 😱

4.5 stars I received an ARC for an honest review. I said I was not going to stay up reading this book all night. I so lied to myself. We pick up right where we left off with Ella Harper and Reed Royal, Drama-rama central. I'm sure they are thinking at this point .... "can I catch a break?" No, they can't. Book 3 is the conclusion of Ella and Reed's story. Yes, they have a happy ending. Is the mystery solved of .... er,yes. Does it leave you wanting more Royals .... yes. Will we get more Royals .... it looks like we will in 2017. Enjoyable read and it kept my attention to the very end. Jen Fredrick and Elle Kennedy are excellent storytellers. They have a way of keeping the reader on their toes. I didn't feel that all my questions were answered, though. I do wonder if there are more secrets to be exposed?? I would love a check in in the future on Ella and Reed. I think this is definitely just the beginning for them and would be curious on how they change and grow together. If you are a fan of the new young adult then this book is for you. Do you love a good soapy drama? This book for you. Are you a fan of a person rising above their circumstances and succeeding? This book for you. If you can't suspend reality and complain that I can see teenagers doing these things and allowing this or that ... don't read this book.

This review was originally posted on Latte Nights Reviews. This review may have spoilers for the previous books in the series. I've been highly anticipating Twisted Palace since the major cliff-hanger in Broken Prince. It's no surprise that when it landed on my Kindle, I dropped every book I was reading and started it. Unfortunately, it wasn't what I was expecting. I buddy-read this with Sarah and Lacey and I'm so glad I did. We were texting back and forth all of our thoughts. I needed the moral support since I was very frustrated and upset. Things I didn't like: 1. Broken Prince had two intense cliff-hangers. First, there's Brooke's death and Reed is the prime suspect. The other major cliffie: Steve is actually alive! Since I mentioned Steve, I'll start with my feelings towards him. HATE! Pure hate for the man. He comes back from the dead and now wants to play father to Ella by enforcing all these rules to her. I was furious! I wanted him gone. 2. I was also frustrated with Ella. Where was the spunky, badass, outspoken Ella? I probably only saw her once in this book and I missed her. She let Steve control her life and she accepted it even though she was mad. I couldn't deal with her at all. 3. Where was the fun of the previous books?! This book was heavy on frustration and desperation. It was also very stressful. Many times I wanted to stop reading but I couldn't. I had to find out what was happening. But I was missing the fun stuff. 4. Something Sarah mentioned and I totally agree with her is that the authors should have taken more time to write this book by pushing the publication date for later on. The thing is, a lot of things were rushed while others were beyond sloppy. It was disappointing. My two feelings through the whole book were frustration and stress. Things I did like: 1. It was so freaking addictive! Once I sat down to read, I had to read it all. I went to sleep late so I could finish this book. 2. Easton! My baby! His personality hasn't changed since book 1 so I was very happy about that. He's still fun, making jokes whenever he can. AND! There was something included in this story that hinted to him having his own book! *fingers tightly crossed* 3. Reed's character has come a long way. In book 1 I wanted to punch him. In this book, all I wanted to do was wrap him up in a blanket and hug him. His vulnerable side was shown even more in this book! Plus, the way he treats Ella now is so heartbreakingly beautiful. 4. Even though a lot of things took a back seat so the story could focus on Steve and Ella, and a little on Reed's case, the authors still managed to give more light to other characters such as Jordan, Val, Wade, and even Dinah! I do wish Jordan and Ella had fixed things. Throughout the book, it was shown that Jordan had a sense of humor when it came to things Ella said. I think these two girls could have been friends. Val was great, as always. She's such a great friend and supporter to Ella. 5. The Royals were so incredibly protective of Ella. It was so endearing to see them become united. I wish this dynamic had been shown more, but it was still done very well. Sometimes I still can't believe that we all hated each other when I first got here. Reed was determined to destroy me. His brothers alternately taunted or ignored me. [...] And now I can't imagine not having the Royals in my life. Overall, Twisted Palace was slightly disappointing for me, but it's still scandalous, addictive and very exciting! I received an eARC from the publicist for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. This review was originally posted on Latte Nights Reviews.

Just give me a series about Easton please, that's all I really care about.

A great end to this series arc. I love the twists and turns as well as the romance and Easton! A total book hangover series.

stop thinking about sex, ella. your boyfriend is going to jail, show some respect. (this book was so funny; adults were like, you're going to jail reed! and both he and ella were like, hrnnnnngh horny) edit: didn't realise i'd already said BOTH of those things instead of just thinking / tweeting them but whatever. on the bright side, i did guess who the killer was and how it had happened!

They caught me enough to have read them too quickly but I liked them and I finished their story and I missed them left me in a feeling

War eine schöne Reihe mag die Charaktere und die Geschichte.

MY HEART

i'm laughing so hard because I called the reveal of brooke's murderer since the ending of the second book

A GREAT ending to this trilogy. I loved it so much, romance mystery, suspense. SO GOOD. highly recommend.

4,5

This book actually kept me on my toes throughput the whole thing. Can’t believe I didn’t like book #1 the first time around. -Read-A-Thin August Challenge #1: read a book that’s part of a series

“I’m a Royal, baby. I don’t run. I fight.” Siri play "when the party is over" HOLY DRAMA MOLY I survived 2 cliffhangers and over 700 pages in 3 days. I can't feel my face y'all. Book 3 Ella's dad is back from the dead 👀 Brooke is dead 💀 and Reed might be going to prison. Ella is adamant on finding the real killer and not giving in, while Reed only wants to spend his last days making memories with Ella. But the real MVP AND DILF is Callum. Seriously I think I loved him more than anyone in this book. The things he has done for his family, I just want to hold him and tell him "you did good sir, you did good." From first dates, stollen moments, first times, and making the most of every moment together, Ella and Reed had me smiling and swaying to their love song all the way through. but did ANYONE see that ending coming?!?!?!! As my dad says.... you just have too much money my friend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫/5 🔥🔥🔥/5

2.5 Okey...

Reed is a murder suspect and all his past deeds finally catch up to him. No one is ready to believe he is innocent but Ella trusts him. Their relationship in this book is tested in ways normal teenage ones are not but they remain strong together. Their faith and trust in each other made me very emotional and I loved them even more than I thought I could. Reed’s character development is huge in this one and I felt he is finally growing up and owning up to his actions. I kinda guessed the culprit early on but didn’t know the Why of it. But this didn’t affect my enjoyment of the book even one bit. I loved the twist at the end and I am so happy this book doesn’t end on another cliffhanger. On the whole, this series may have too much of everything but I still love it. I love Ella and Reed, the Royal family, Val and even Wade. This series is my new guilty pleasure and I totally enjoyed the experience.
