I LOVE THIS KIND OF BOOKS OMGGGG very chillingggg with all the graphics and visuals! love love love!

this was enjoyable, but by the end it felt a little too pulp-y, like lucy foley / freida mcfadden's works. i'm writing this review quite a few months after the fact, so i don't remember tooooo much, but i remember being soooo interested in the beginning and enjoying the seemingly disconnected stories come together, but i think i felt lukewarm by the explanation by the end. still, it wasn't too long, so i wouldn't actively stop anyone from reading it.

"No matter where you are, everyone is always connected", is the quote (from Lain) I would use to describe this book. Reading this was such a jaw-dropping experience, since every chapter contained a plot twist of its own. It leaves you on the edge of your seat and keeps you wondering who the real bad guy is, and why each event matters.

A jarring read. This was the first of ukestus book that I read and if you thought you couldn’t get jumpscared by words on paper you’d be wrong. Finished it in two sittings. No notes

how does one think of a story like that... am SO amazed

Germaine Lee

Something about the translation I can’t put my finger on that made this an easy read, despite having heavy themes

(Finished this in less than a day. Who is she????)

It was fun to tear through this thrilling page turner to connect the dots that Uketsu laid out for us. Fun read, well done.

A lot of people liked this one more than I did. It was creepy at the beginning, but I think that Japanese is a hard language to translate smoothly. You can really feel that sort of disjointedness the closer you get to the end as perspectives constantly change. It wrapped everything up nicely but a lot of moments were forgettable to a point where I was flipping back through pages to trigger my memory.

While it’s an easy and engaging read, plot falls a bit flat and there isn’t a compelling plot/story to the mystery

really like how they included drawings & a fake screenshot of a blog. i also liked how the timeline wasn't linear and it just revealed pieces of information slowly which makes the ultimate reveal shocking to a certain extent while also not making it as overwhelming as some thrillers! i started this book today and couldn't put it down i literally fell asleep holding my kindle cause i really didn't wanna put it down...

i get the hype! altho there were parts that were a little hard to follow but i think it's just that my brain couldn't remember some plot pieces since they were revealed so. dull (?) i don't know if this makes sense but it's like i didn't pick it up as relevant since it was revealed so naturally that when it all tied together i was :0. good book!!!! deserves its flowers. i can't wait to read strange houses!

yapped too much in this. but it was just a good book!
