"I'm confused. Do you want me to spy on my fiancé or get naked with you?" "Both. I thought that was obvious." Revenge. It's the only thing Ashley can think about after finding her supposed fiancé, Steven, with his tongue down the throat of the worst human being in the history of the world--his colleague, Ice Queen Victoria. Turns out it's not the only body part he's betrayed her with. Humiliated and furious, Ashley finds herself being propositioned by security expert and ridiculously sexy Jason Baine. But he's not just looking to get her into bed. He needs her help taking down Steven and Victoria and rescuing his family's company before it's too late. Ashley's a regular girl, a normal person. She doesn't dabble in corporate espionage or illicit affairs. At least she didn't until Jason... But now she's in too deep and things are getting dangerous.

At the same time Ashley finds out that her fiance, Steven has been cheating on her, she is asked to help Jason Baine and his grandfather discover what illegal deal Steven has with Jason's stepsister, Victoria.  Not only is Ashley trying to come to terms with the end of her engagement, but she also finds herself interested in Jason and his affectionate overtures.  

In the acknowledgements, Lucy Score indicates that this is her first book, and it shows.  Even though the dialogue is interesting, it doesn't do much to explain why Victoria's personality is so over the top and one dimensional.  Also, Jason's actions in this book do not make him heroic even though he is the love interest.  None of the characters are well developed, and the last chapter before the epilogue tells half of plot, making the pacing seem very random.  In the end, I wish Lucy Score had gone back to this book and added some much needed changes before this rerelease.

Score another one for Lucy Score!

Cute rom/com with elements of a thriller thrown in for fun. Ashley and Jason have a great first meeting, but the rest of the story pays it off pretty brilliantly. Fun read!

This book is kind of right smack in the middle. It’s not bad, but I didn’t like it as much as I liked other Lucy Score books. It’s kind of a detective romance and although the romance portion was there I kind of wish I got to see more of the crime detective parts.
