You'll like it if you're unsure on how to enhance something in your life. It is brief and straightforward

A very helpful book that I should probably keep around and just read a bit when I start getting in a funk! Definitely goes against some of the feel good warm fuzzy stuff nowadays but I think having a good balance is key ;) So much of our suffering or stuckness is in our own heads. We often set our own limits. Trying really hard not to get in my own way these days!

TL;DR - You're in control of your life, stop wasting it. Basically a 3 hour long motivational speech about how you are your own problem. No real tips or strategies, just him telling you to get your life together. If you're going to read it, get the audio book because Scottish accent is way more motivating than reading to yourself. LOL

Fun listen, I enjoyed the narrators accent, but nothing really new that I hadn't heard before.

I usually don’t say this but you don’t need to read this book. Everything you need to know it’s above – in the summary you’ve just read. Despite the loud title and the promise for groundbreaking life advice, there’s nothing you haven’t heard before. Recycled ideas we’ve all heard before. To be honest, I find nfu*k Yourself by Gary John Bishop bloated and a bit repetitive. Actually, quite repetitive. The author keeps on saying the same thing, over and over again in the book, like an old broken record, – “keep doing, be willing, be relentless.” Yeah, like we don’t know. But how to be all those things? We should figure it out on our own because the author doesn’t give us anything close to practical advice. Read full summary: https://durmonski.com/book-summaries/...

If I'm being honest, I didn't expect much from this book, I mean it's another self help book; what's new? But wow.. the author of this book is different, you can tell from the very first page but i was still skeptical; and the more I read the more i got into his.. " voice " He really does put things into perceptive, and in a way i never thought of which was kinda mind blowing And the best part? He was honest, straight forward and there was no room for that extreme positivity some self help books have. He gave you what you can change in your language with yourself, and why you can actually say that to yourself without feeling like you're lying or making that up, and i loved it. I truly can't wait to read his other books, he really is different.

I remember downloading this book awhile ago onto my Audible account and then promptly forgetting about it. I love audiobooks, but it's not always easy for me to get into them. I tend to want the narrator to read quicker than they are. And then I get discouraged by how much time is still left for the book. Scrolling through my Audible account, I actually clicked on a different book by Gary John Bishop. Within the first couple minutes, he mentioned "as I talked about in Unfu*k Yourself" (or something along those lines), I knew I needed to stop and listen to Unfu*k Yourself. And I am definitely glad I did. At 3.5 hours, this is a quick book to listen to. Well, it is when your normal commute is approximately 45min each way and most of your job involves driving anyways. I absolutely loved this book. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would. I love the no holds barred approach that Bishop takes with this book. He calls it like it is but does it in a way that does not get you offended. Instead of making excuses for why your life is the way it is, you find yourself agreeing with him and wanting to make the necessary changes. But like he says, wanting to make the changes doesn't mean anything if you don't actually make the changes to have a happier and better life. If anyone needs a kick in the pants, a word of encouragement, or some extra motivation about your life, this is the book for you. However, if you are super easily offended, especially by cursing, move along. Audiobook is the way to go for this book. Bishop narrates it himself and he does an incredible job.

This book could have been much shorter. Also, most of what I read wasn't new to me and at times it felt like a cliché self-help book. I give it two stars because I found some really good quotes in the book (not by the author though).

For a book that preaches not telling you to think positive it basically tells you to think positive
