Argentina and Australia, facing unfavorable prices in export markets and drought conditions in many of the grassland areas, are forecast to produce less beef again in 1982. New Zealand has not had serious weather problems but it does face the same export prices and it too is expecting another small decline. Beef production in the EC in 1982 should stabilize at the 1981 level, which was off 4 percent from the year before.
