In April 1967, prices of British. Dominion combing wools averaged 11 percent below a year earlier. Prices are expected to continue around current levels during the next few months. Later in the year, however, some strengthening in prices may occur with a pick up in mill activity. World wool supplies at the start of the current world season last summer and fall were about the same as a year earlier.' Larger production was offset by lower beginning stocks in the 5 surplus-producing countries of the Southern Hemisphere. However, ending stocks in these countries are expected to be somewhat higher.
