Unlike many reviews I've read so far about this book, I've got to say I loved it. The adventures that Spensa went on felt like the promises of her character and story were finally coming true! And we got enough of the Skyward flight members in the novellas that I could definitely welcome the return of M-Bot and Spensa for this one. But I really didn't get the ending, or the answers we got. It felt... underwhelming? Or maybe it just didn't make a lot of sense to me even from a Fantasy point of view. I wanted more back story. I feel like many questions are still unanswered and it doesn't sound like we're going to see them answered in Evershore or Defiant. I guess we'll just have to wait for Defiant. Overall, I really love the Cytoverse stories. And reading Sanderson's year-end update, hinting at more stories coming in this world even after Spensa's arc, has gotten me even more excited. For now, I'll go ahead and enjoy reading Evershore and Defending Elysium.
