I post my book reviews a little at random hence why I already wrote about a book by Valter Hugo Mãe but this was actually my first book from him. From that day forward my life was changed ahahah. Until now I have read four books by him and they were all five stars. Plus I have a new one from the library waiting on my shelf. I just can't get enough of his writing and he is without a doubt, my favorite Portuguese author.

This story is about an old man who enters an old people's home. Basically, we follow his integration in the home and his point of view of his friends, the nurses, his family, his health, and most important his future death. It was one of the rawest depictions of getting old that I have ever read. It portraits what it is like being surrounded by people who are going to die, seeing everyone you meet and love die, and finally just waiting day after day for your turn.
