I liked it, I really did. Although it did kind of suffer from second book syndrome a little bit and it was quite predictable. I really hope book three will convince me more.

Under the Never Sky grabbed my attention and left me on the edge of my seat. I fell in love with Rossi's characters and couldn't wait for more of her manufactured world in Through the Ever Night. She *so* did not disappoint. If anything, I think I liked it even more than the first. Veronica Rossi has achieved that perfect mix of humor, heart, action, romance, a cast of utterly phenomenal characters and a unique plot set in a world that is exquisitely built.

“Love was like the waves in the sea, gentle and good sometimes, rough and terrible at others, but that it was endless and stronger than the sky and earth and everything in between.”

Aria really came into her own in Through the Ever Night. It goes without saying that, as Blood Lord, Perry did as well. While there were elements of romance and even the dreaded love triangle – or square, in this case – the book was about more than that. That's not to say I didn't enjoy the romance and, perhaps, want to strangle a certain side character who I was afraid would threaten the happiness of my beloved Perry and Aria. Where I think this series – and these characters – really stand out from the rest of the genre, is the level of maturity of the relationship Perry and Aria share. While they want each other around, they're not entirely dependent on the other. They're also not easily swayed by affection or attention from another.

“It didn't matter if Aria was hundreds of miles away, or whether she'd hurt him, or said goodbye, or anything else. Nothing would change the way he felt. The moment Aria had taken his hand on the roof at Marron's, she'd changed everything. No matter what happened, she'd always be the one.”

The action and adventure of the book was every bit as intriguing and engrossing as the romance. I won't say anything to spoil the book because it's really best experienced for yourself and not read in my review. Just know to expect some more of the edge-of-your-seat action like in the first book and know that when it ends you WILL want more.

“We lose and lose, but we're still here. Shaking in place, afraid of doing something. I'm tired of settling for this because I don't know if something better exists. It has to. What point is there otherwise? I can do something about it now. And I will.”

I read this in audiobook version and it worked so very well. The narration and pacing was perfect. It definitely made my daily commute more enjoyable.

I really enjoyed this book. I wouldn't say it was quite as good as the first one but it was still really good. It set up a great premises for book three and I can't wait to read it!!!

Finalmente!
Okay, okay, l'importante è che l'abbia fatto no? Giusto? ç_ç
