Frankly, fictional people appeal far more to me than real people do. In fiction, the choices have to make sense. The timeline proceeds rationally. Emotions are explained to me. Characters feel the way they are supposed to feel in response to the actions of others. Nobody stays in a bad situation because of inertia or low self-esteem. That would make for a truly shitty story. But in real life . . . God, in real life people so rarely behave in ways that improve their circumstances.

My God! I LOVED this book. The perfect read for the spooky season.

Have you ever read a book and I knew you weren’t supposed to like one of the main characters? This is what happened to me with this book. I really don’t think I should have like Jane as a person but I really did. It’s like I was rooting for her and exactly what she was doing even though I knew it was really, really wrong. I had to question myself multiple times thinking what the heck am I reading and why am I liking this so much? I could not put this book down and I really didn’t want to. I read it (or I should say listened to the audio) at work, on the way to work, in the shower, while cleaning and cooking I was doing absolutely anything. I wanted to know more about Jane and Steven, our main characters. Why was Jane was seeking revenge in Steven? What was she going to do to Steven when she got him in her grips?

This book gave me Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn vibes, which is one of my favorite reads last year. Overall, Jane Doe is fun, intriguing, and I was fully immersed in the story the entire time. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if this was number one on my list for my end of the year favorite reads. Definite ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars and I will recommend this to any thriller lover. I can’t wait for the sequel of this book to come out!!

anyway wow i like this a lot,,, it was really interesting how this book showed a new perspective of like a sociopath,,, and the book was surprisingly funny at times lol did not expect that in a mystery thriller book lol 

i dont wanna give out spoilers but i really like *that character,,, *that character is just great i love *that character akdnskxnskzn,,, jane + *that character= what a combo 

and i love that this book was not all ab bloody stuff or whatever,,, whew im all ab the psyche u know not the gory stuff,,,

Without any spoilers, it is about a female sociopath trying to enact her revenge. I really don’t want to say more as I think it takes away from the reading experience. If you do a quick google I’m sure the blurb paints a better picture. But I don’t want to overshare.


I loved it! Absolutely ate the book up, I think I finished it in a couple of days. It has an immediate hook and you’re completely thrown into the narrator’s world. The book had me gasping, laughing and sitting on the edge of my seat. It is honestly so well written, fast paced enough that you feel like a part of the plan but not so fast that it all feels rushed. It is also different because you sort of (?) empathise with her even though one of the first things she says is that she is a sociopath who struggles to deal with people and their emotions on a daily basis. The pace is really good it never feels like it lags and the twists and turns are truly not something I expected so kudos to Stone for writing a really original novel. I think it's the type of book perfect for the summer, easy but extremely fascinating. It also has made me look more at thrillers, they weren’t even on my radar tbh.

Jane is a true sociopath and I find her fascinating. She masks, never letting her true self show and it's delicious to see her manipulate the world around her and to see that she is a true predator. She's several steps ahead of the people around her and they won't see her coming. I'll definitely keep reading the series.
