I picked up this book from the bargain section at B&N. The premise was interesting - a collection of essays written by inmates in a women's prison after going through a writing workshop - and I figured if I didn't like it, hey, it was in the bargain section. I'm so glad I picked it up. The stories are touching, heartbreaking, and brilliant. An important reminder that the people in prison are still people, and each has their own story, their own path that led them there.
