I loved the description of Alec (was that even his name?) getting through the island to the meadows inside. Probably my favorite book of the series.

This one is a re-read for me. I loved this series as a teenager and I read it back then in German.
It is over 79 years old and I am amazed that it is such an adorable read.
I will keep reading this series (it has about 12 books I believe) in between bigger books when I feel like a shorter, light, entertaining read.
