This was a surprisingly sweet treat of a story. An interesting perspective on WWII, this novel follows the stories of several women during WWII. While it was a little dry in the beginning, it really picked up speed, and I was sad to say goodbye to the friends I'd made along the way. It was an incredibly satisfying stand-alone book, which effectively let you experience the full span of the characters lives without leaving you wondering what happened next. If you're into Historical Fiction, WWII, or just like a good read, this book is a good read.

The story was intriguing and I liked the fresh perspective of women at home in Europe during WWII, but the ending was horrible. It was odd and seemed out of character for the women in this book.
