Conoscevo già la storia per via di un cortometraggio Disney visto tempo fa, e sapevo perfettamente che questo libro non aveva niente a che fare con il film o la serie tv che dal libro di Washington Irving hanno decisamente solo preso spunto alla lontana. 
Non posso negare di essere comunque un po' delusa da questo libro ed il motivo è perché non ha assolutamente niente di gotic o horror, anzi! Sembra più una favola che una storia horror ad essere sinceri. Il cavaliere senza testa non fa minimamente paura, forse perché non esiste nemmeno nel libro, ma il lettore all'inizio non lo sa! eppure non mette nemmeno un minimo di apprensione e le scene assurde di Ichabod sono troppo comiche per risultare spaventose anche quando fugge dal "Cavaliere". Mi aspettavo di essere spaventata almeno un pochino, ed invece non è successo mai neanche minimamente.
