'I'm driving you, right?" I nudge Aves. She nods with a closed mouth smile, before leaning into my side and holding onto my arm. Not going to lie, I really love it when she's clingy.

It's because she's not all the time, so it feels like a gift when she is. Maybe it's because she's getting more comfortable with me. If that's the case, I hope this becomes more of a regular thing. Regardless, it's really fucking adorable.

"Fuck Cindy, I love you. I'm in fucking love with you and I will be in love with you for the rest of our lives," he says in between kisses. I sigh against his mouth and the weight on my shoulders loosens.

"So, he's a hockey player." Damn him! I roll my eyes but nod my head in confirmation. "Does Drake know?"

"God, no!" I yelp, closing my mouth and pressing a palm to my lips. Dad throws the cloth he was using for cleaning to the sink and gazes at me intently.

Then, he sighs and runs his hands over his face.

"Please tell me you didn't break the rule."

"The rule?" I frown, quirking my eyebrow in question.

"The rule of not sleeping with your best friend's siblings." He looks so serious, while I really want to laugh. Aloud. What the hell is wrong with me?!

I lift my shoulders, spread my arms, and just say,

"Ava.." Dad groans, threading fingers through his short hair.

"It happened last year." I lie, looking him straight in the eyes. "It was once."

"Uh huh... As if I'm going to believe you." He shakes his head but doesn't add anything else.

"Tristan..." I whispered but the man didn't let me talk. He placed a gentle kiss on my nose before smiling wildly.

"Azaire wanted me to take you out for dinner, order the most expensive champagne and steak before confessing my undying love for you. But that's not how I wanted to do it. I wanted to do it here, in this house, in our sweatpants with our daughter watching cartoons. Because this is who I fell in love with and want to spend the rest of my life with."

Tristan said as I chuckled lowly, my eyes blurring as his thumb rubbed my cheek.

"I never thought I would need you as much as I do. I can't go a day without texting you, or calling you, or being with you. You make me want to be a better man, a better father for our girl. There's nothing I wouldn't do for you, or Ainsley.

And I know you might think you don't deserve this- but trust me, you fucking do. You deserve all the fucking love in this world because you're amazing."
