★★★★☆ [4/5 stars] This might not be the best novels out there, but this definitely has a unique charm that can entice readers. This is such a satisfying slice of life novel that focuses more on healing one's soul over drowning yourself in hatred and revenge. The premise of Nan Ge Er's (MC) story has the tendency to revolve around dog blood dramas because of the betrayals, facing depression and such, but the route of the plot unexpectedly went to the direction of taking the relieving way to live. Xiao Nan finally found the people who really cares about him sincerely and the place where he really belongs, a place full of mysteries but strangely made him feel the contentment he never felt. This story really brought me so much warmth that I never expected I'd received when I started this. There were heartaches here in there sprinkled in the story but it was there to emphasize the comfort and sense of belonging that Xiao Nan achieved in that special place. This novel is so heartbreaking and so heartwarming at the same time. I was on the verge of crying multiple times and I even thought this would give a painful ending, but I'm glad that all is well. This is a fast read with only 54 chapters and personally, it's really worth the read. I'm not depressed myself but I think I would recommend it to those who are. This has some really good lines about persuading someone to live and someone trying to continue living persistently after experiencing an excruciating life. A really great read! I would actually recommend this to anyone!
