One of my favorite series! Wendy wax gives all the characters depth and you feel connected to them. This is a page turner for sure! Awesome beach read!

Coming to Southern Voices 2013

It is important to realize that I review and rate books for myself alone. I don't mind anyone else reading them and choosing books based on my likes and dislikes. And although, in some cases (those books that I feel touch the very soul and essence of life) I might almost become radical in my insistence that you read a book, I would never tell you NOT to read a book. The books I don't particular like have everything to do with me - the books that I love have everything to do with the author.

And with that disclaimer I say that this genre of book is definitely not my thing. References to tight sweaters, rippling abs and pouty lips leave me yawning. Well maybe no one actually had pouty lips - but it WAS set to the music backdrop of "The Lion sleeps tonight".

There were some interesting points - which kept me from giving it the dreaded 1 star: I liked the reference to specific architectural aspects and styles. It caused me to learn a bit more about the Don Cesar hotel in St. Petersburg.  But these same points were also run unmercifully into the ground. If I ever hear the term loggia again I just might pout.
