A good business book is either backed by science or teaches lessons through stories. Somehow, Goldsmith seems to dodge both and write an instruction manual that's unfoundedly prescriptive. He attempts to emulate the profundity and clarity of Dale Carnegie, but leaves out the charm and charisma probably only Carnegie could offer. The lessons he teaches are probably valuable but I just don't think the message hits home like Goldsmith would hope.

I am confident this is useful for many but wasn't for me. Read it if you need convincing that you should keep a learning mindset your whole life, skip it if you either don't, or don't know what that is.
