what rory and tristan should have been i think...

[3.9/5] i have reread this like 6 times I need help atp I wish there was more romance and it didn't just happen at the very end but i loved their rivalry and banter sm also someone change the cover, neither of them are this fucking ugly

4.5 I loved this book so much, the only thing that bothered me was how alison thought she knew better than everyone else and was super rude to all the adults in the book, specially her parents and sister

There were some really cringy moments but overall I loved the book and the characters. It was definitely one of the best contemporary enemies to lovers I’ve read.

who do we need to bully to change this cover _______ It’s odd to me now, how I’d considered every paragraph of high school only prologue while I wrote chapter upon chapter of newspaper productions and driving lessons, fights and fantasies and food poisoning. Under the lights, I feel grateful for the exhilaration of an unfinished story and the necessity of every page before this one. Ugh. My heart. This was dang cute. It lands perfectly in that place in the YA genre where I find I can really enjoy the book without having to view it as my high-school self. I didn't need to age myself down to understand the conflict, the drama, the friendships, the rivalry, because Wibberley toed that line between teens and young adults so well. The writing was cohesive and mature. The characters were 3-dimensional and well-rounded, and the story flowed perfectly. I've seen this compared to Today Tonight Tomorrow. I've seen people rate this a little lower because of how it measures up. I haven't read Today, Tonight, Tomorrow yet, though it is on my TBR, but I will just say I'm grateful I read this first, because I got to enjoy it on its own merits. And I'm sure when I do eventually get to read Today, Tonight, Tomorrow, I'll enjoy it, too. Also, lets put our hands together for a true enemies-to-lovers. How often in the trope does one of the lovers (usually the guy) admit he's really loved the other all along? That he's been pining since the moment they met? Don't get me wrong. I love the pining. It still gets my heart fluttering. But there is something refreshing about seeing our main couple come together into their feelings. A solid YA. I think the only thing I would have liked more was if it was told in a dual POV. And again.... LET'S GET A NEW COVER ON THIS BITCH, VIKING BOOKS!!

kind of ... disappointed? we never really did get a reason to why they were rivals + honestly i think t3 spoiled me w academic rivals to lovers. oop.

*I got this book for review from the publisher for my honest thoughts* I found this book to so fun to read. It put a smile on my face and prob will go down as being on my favorite hate to love romances. I really loved the two leads in this book. I also loved how this book was focused on the end of high school and also planning of big party. I also really related to alison as a character. I also really loved the character of ALISON and related to her in some massive ways. I also loved how this book tackled the end of high school. I def really enjoy the cameo of the time of our lives character. This book def dived in to more of the "hate" then i was expecting!! Such a great read!!!

Thank you NetGalley and dreamscape media for this audiobook copy of Whats Not to Love by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka! Alison is an overachiever, a classic type a personality, I mean she literally has a white board in her bedroom with all her tasks, school assignments, etc. Point Alison. However, she also has an enemy, Ethan, a constant pain trying to one up her at every chance he can. Point Ethan. When the principal puts these to know it alls in charge of planning a high school reunion, a war begins. Each one thinks they know best, but along the way they find out they may be the best for each other. This is just the cute and silly ya romance that I LOVE. Alison and Ethan are some lovable. I cared about the side characters and they journey they went on (I mean literally rooting for Dylan to break up with Olivia 🙄) I think this just solidified that I’ll read anything they write!!

This book wants to be today tonight tomorrow very badly. Unfortunately it is not

Ah high school. It's so bizarre to think I graduated six years ago. I haven't walked the halls or gone to classes and yet this book pulled me right back in and I loved it. With this enemies to lovers story, two rivals do everything in their power to outdo the other leading to an intensely passionate relationship that I am IN LOVE WITH. Opening this book, we get to meet Alison, our protagonist, and her nemesis, Ethan, as they prepare to take an AP English test. Alison has food poisoning from dinner the night before that she got with her friend Dylan and her date, and forced herself to go to school while throwing up to take this test and beat Ethan. While I had healthy rivalries in high school (comparing scores and doing our best to "beat" the other person with better scores), it was never to this level. Alison and Ethan's rivalry is all consuming - everything they do is centered around it: school work, extra curriculars, hobbies, even learning how to drive is a competition for them. Meeting the two, I could see the passion behind their rivalry. They put in the effort at 110% just to say they won and everything between them is a competition. I was surprised with how extreme this was and how intense they got. Honestly, I should have expected their romance to be just as intense, but wow did I underestimate the passion between these two. The romance in this book was phenomenal. I could see it slowly developing over time, as each of them got sad when the other wouldn't play along, or the "hatred" in their eyes. As they slowly got closer to being more like friends, I could tell that something was waiting to snap and wow, did it snap. Their first kiss was an explosion of emotions and I literally was breathless reading it. Once I could catch my breath and understand what I just read, I was SCREAMING! I texted Alexa my reactions and it was a lot of screaming and agreeing with said screaming. Be sure to check out Alexa's review over at Writing the Universe - we agree on a LOT! When I wasn't completely geeking out over their kiss and the chemistry between them, I was appreciating the growth that Alison and Ethan go through. Alison starts off pretty judgemental - she thinks she has all the answers and that things fit in their boxes. Her older sister, who moved home after quitting her job and being dumped by her fiance, is a deadbeat with no goals or aspirations. Her best friend Dylan is too blind to see how her ex-girlfriend Olivia treated her and doesn't allow herself to find better. And Ethan? He's a stuck up prick who loves nothing more than ruining her life. But as Alison grows and learns, she realizes the error of her ways. Not everyone finds themself in high school or even right out of it. There's no deadline on when you have to know what you want to do with your life and things are sometimes better when they change or come unexpectedly. It's such a great message and I really loved watching her go through that emotional journey and come to a more balanced and accepting opinion. Overall, this book is just top tier. The messages are wonderful, the romance is great, and the squeal factor is 10/10! I found myself falling in love with this book and I'm so excited to read the author's other books now. I feel like I've found a new favorite duo.

This was so much fun! I’ve seen a few comparisons to Today Tonight Tomorrow by Rachel Lynn Solomon (which I also love) I think if you liked one you’ll really enjoy the other. Alison and Ethan were awesome. I really don’t like when hate to love is really hate to friendship to love, so I absolutely loved that this really went straight from them hating each other. Great character development, her parents cracked me up. I really enjoyed their competitions and how that didn’t change even when their relationship did. Overall, very entertaining and cute. I didn’t realize there was going to be a cameo from the author’s other book. I need to back and read from the start now.
