I absolutely love this book! Ben and Mia are everything and Nolan is too cute for words! This is a great book. It’s hot, steamy, romantic, funny, dramatic and sweet.

I have to say I had the perfect timing with my re-read, because when I started this book the sun was shining and it was beautiful out. It definitely fit well with the fact that Where I Belong takes place in the summer. The great thing about re-reads is that you see certain details sooner, but also get to relive all of your favorite moments all over again.

To start this review I have to say that I loved the audiobook and the narrators. They really made Ben and Mia come to life and they did such a great job getting the humor and other emotions feel real. Because Where I Belong is definitely a book that hits you in all the feels. I didn't remember it being that steamy though, haha. 

Mia is in Alabama for the summer, because she's taking some time to get away after a lot of things going on at home. So what a better way to spend the summer than at your best friend's house. At the beginning of the summer she decides it's time to lose her virginity with some stranger at the bar who just happens to be her best friend's brother and someone she's hated since she was a teenager. We definitely get the whole enemies to lovers vibe and that delivers a lot of awkward moments that also make you laugh out loud. There relationship moves quickly, but I have to say I love their connection and how it seems to be more than just sex.

Mia is such a sweet person and definitely gives her all for the ones she loves. She much rather spend the summer doing things for others than relaxing and taking time for herself. I loved how caring she was and accepting she was of Ben's son. Mia can be sassy and stubborn, but has a heart of gold.

Ben is definitely one that lands high on the book boyfriend list. He's a cop and a very devoted father to his three year old son Nolan. I loved how he was with his little boy. Nolan was definitely his whole world and then some. That's something that will make a lot of us swoon. He's stubborn, but also very caring and protective of those he loves. Ben isn't afraid to let Mia know how he feels and what he wants either. We don't always see this in romances.

Okay, I gave this book five stars even though the ending felt just a bit rushed to me. Some things seemed a bit much to happen all at once and their relationship skipped like ten steps, haha. That being said this is fiction and the ending made me happy, haha. There is also an amazing cast of side characters that I know I will come to love as the books continue. Luke, Tessa and Reed were a lot of fun to read about and there stories are going to be just as fun to read again.

All in all, Where I Belong is a fast and steamy read with amazing characters. If I'm honest, Ben's son Nolan really steals the show. That little boy is so cute while slaying his invisible dragons. Just like many other readers I really hope the author gives us a book about him when he's all grown up!

This was a really fun, hot, steamy, and quick read of Ben and Mia's story. I absolutely adore Sir Nolan and Chasey. They will steal your heart. Mia has become one of my all time favorite heroines ever. She is not afraid to speak her mind and tell Ben what she wants and Ben is more than willing to give it to her. One of my biggest reasons I love this series is how J. Daniels is consistently bringing in the second characters. I just love them all soooo much!!!

This was an amazingly written story of Ben Kelly and Mia Corelli. This is the first book I have read by J. Daniels and most certainly will not be the last. 

This is sort of the enemies becomes lovers story and definitely had me sucked in from the very beginning. What really impressed me and it is hard to find that these days is how well written this story was! I don't think I saw one misspelled word or grammar issue. Just an overall great book!!

I picked up the first three books in J. Daniels' Alabama Summer series a few months ago when they were on sale, even though I'd never read any of her books before. They come highly recommended and have great reviews on Goodreads, PLUS I love discovering new-to-me authors, so how could I go wrong? I was waiting for the right time to give them a shot and I was craving a good ol' southern boy, so I figured why not? I'm glad I did, too, because I really enjoyed this book. (And I can't wait to continue on with the series! I sense a binge coming...) I'm a big fan of the best friend's brother (or even brother's best friend) trope, I love sexy southern boys and really enjoy a good love/hate story so Where I Belong pretty much had my name written all over it. 

Mia hates her best friend's (Tessa's) brother. He made her life a living hell when they were younger. As excited as she is to go home and spend the summer with her bestie, she's less than thrilled at the prospect of possibly seeing Ben again. And, honestly, I understood why. He was a bully and a jerk. In preparation for her wild summer with her friend, she decided it was time to finally lose her virginity and stops by a bar to pick up a guy and cash in her V card. She meets a guy and they totally click and, just like that – after a smokin' hot hookup, she's no longer a virgin. Imagine her surprise when she learns later that she just slept with Ben... the person she allegedly hates more than anyone. Oooooh. This is gonna be fun. (And it was.) 

Where Mia wants to pull away completely from Ben and try to forget about their chemistry (and the hot sex), Ben wants to pull her closer. The little girl he tormented is long gone and the woman she became is someone he's very much into. They just seemed to get each other. I really liked them together – from the sexy times to the banter afterwards and through when they started to move forward into more – they just worked for me. 

The secondary characters in this book were rather interesting. Tessa ... well, I'm not sure I have a total read on her yet. She was wild and had sex on the brain. (Even when it came to her brother and encouraging Mia to get with his nine inches... which was a little... odd.) She was in this "friends with benefits but we both want more but refuse to admit it" thing with Ben's friend and partner, Luke. I liked Tessa and want more from her. I think I like Luke, despite his manwhoreish tendencies. (Good thing Tessa and Luke's book is next... I'm ready for that story.) But the real star of the secondary cast was Ben's son Nolan. He is, without a doubt, one of the most adorably charming kids I've read about in a book in recent memory. Oh, he gave me feels for days with his scenes with Ben and Mia.

Where I Belong was a good, solid read. Ben was super swoony and I enjoyed reading his words in my head in a southern drawl. Mia was strong and likable. Together, they were on fire. Together, when with Nolan, they were this wonderful little family that warmed my heart. This book had laughs and feels and was a super quick read. I can't wait to continue on with the series. J. Daniels has a new fan right here!

So I may have knowingly gone into listening to the Where We Belong audiobook as a standalone, without having read the rest of the Alabama Summer series. It’s probably best to read the series before starting this, but honestly, I enjoyed it entirely as a standalone, and I didn’t feel lost or confused about the characters. For those of you who keep track of the series, Where We Belong is a continuation of Ben and Mia’s story from Where I Belong.

Post-HEA for Mia and Ben isn’t as perfect as they thought it would be – parenthood mainly consists of Mia taking care of their sons, Ben working long night shifts, and neither of them being able to satisfy their needs for one another. Two children make the most amazing cock-blockers, but Ben and Mia are determined to work out some alone time. We follow them along as they get interrupted time and again, but the love they have for each other is just as strong and passionate as it was when they first fell in love.

Where We Belong is such as short and sweet audiobook! It was pure fun to listen to, and it was pretty amusing to see Mia and Ben getting cock-blocked over and over again. Stella Bloom once again nails the part of the heroine’s narration and Eric Michael Summerer does an incredible job of voicing Ben. This is the first time I’ve listened to his narration, but it definitely won’t be my last. And I also may have to go back and check out the previous Alabama Summer series, because I’m so intrigued by the other characters! If you have or haven’t read the series, either way, Where We Belong is the perfect short and steamy listen in audio.
