I found this book far more interesting than any of Meyer's "Young Royals" series. Although, like the "Young Royals" series, Meyer bases this novel on a real historical character, the relative obscurity of this character gives her more historical and artistic license. I found the technique of the alternating narrators, the diary format for one and the first-person experience of the other engaging. I also found that Meyer managed to create two completely different voices for each of these narrators, a feat which few authors manage to accomplish.

I recommend this book.
