I just want to scream in all caps how much I really liked this book. The flow of everything was gorgeous. So many little things that I wanted to jot down or underline, just pretty ways of expressing emotions and the drone of life. I was not expecting the book to end the way it did but I really am glad that was how the story was wrapped up.

I am giving this book 3.5 stars. I had a really hard time deciding whether to round up or down for my rating but ultimately rounded down. I rounded down to three stars because I didn't love the book and I think four and five stars should be dedicated to book you loved (or realllyyyy like). I decided to read this book based on the June Book of the Month Club (my link text) selections. I was a bit hesitant because the description of the book didn't do much for me but a love story is good for the soul every once and a while. I dove right in when the book arrived and was instantly sucked in. 

The book starts and Elise Perez is pointing a gun at Jamey Hyde. WHAT?! I know. So right then I knew I needed to know exactly what led to this crazy situation. You will find out, e v e n t u a l l y, and I will admit, it took some time to get there. The middle of the story just felt like listening to the routine of Elise and Jamey for a bit too long. I didn't feel that it completely added to the story but I did started to feel a strong connection to them and their daily struggles and love for each other. Jardine Libaire does an excellent job of expressing their situation and imagine what it would be like. This situation ultimately leads to an exciting and page turning ending. It is not something I would have imagined but I was pleased with the ultimate fate of Elise and Jamey.

I can't honestly express how engaging and intriguing this book is. However, many reviews said it was gonna be "gritty and honest," and boy, was it that!
