The best parts of this book are the parts about the hearings and the political environment that surrounded them. For me, the parts that explored Marshall’s early career went on too long and seemed to have less of a direct connection to the hearings. I did like reading the section about Texas, specifically Houston. They make us take Texas history in school in Texas, but this stuff wasn’t exactly in the curriculum.
