Sigh. The end of the Shetland Island Mysteries. Once again, at the end of the series, I feel like I am losing old friends. I am quite pleased with the way it ends, though.

Last in the DI Jimmy Perez series. I do love the insight into Shetland. I think the TV series is made better by the addition of Detective Sgt. Tosh Mcintosh, one of my favorite characters. Perez in the book is too much of a lone ranger, with DC Sandy Wilson playing the hapless sidekick. Sandy does have the most satisfying arc of the series, in part due to the initial fecklessness of the character.
