I read this as part of the ultimate reader challenge. January’s book, a free read. I quite enjoyed this book. I’ve never read any of Max Monroe’s books and this was a good introduction. First of all, Roll Tide! Second, I love the football aspect here. Third, I love that Quinn was just as invested as Cat. Fourth, I NEED Denver’s book, like, yesterday! This was a great, light hearted read. A couple of times I felt that some dots didn’t connect and that the football technicalities could’ve been played up, more with Jillian and the PR guy whose name escapes me right now. One thing that really bugged me was the assertion that there are direct flights from JFK to Birmingham. A hop and a skip to T Town? My dream! Unfortunately in my experience it’s not a reality! Still, if you’re looking for something light hearted, give this a go!

Listen... was this book corny as heck... a little cringy... with a terrible conflict? Yes. Did I tear up through it all and root for these two terribly awkward people the entire time? Also yes. First... I'd literally deck a man if he called me 'Kitty cat' constantly. I would also be furious if he referred to me, to millions of people, as a kitten. And post my feet. But there was something also... oddly cute about it in a way that made me very uncomfy but also tear up. I cannot explain this, so please don't ask me to. Additionally... the conflict? Terrible. There could have absolutely been something way more interesting that didn't have to do with his parents being racist. And other than some mentions of how they treat his brother, it feels like it comes completely at random? There is no buildup. Anyways, I did love this book. I cringed a lot, but in the end it had my heart. Also, I'm a proud Baltimore fan but I think through all the awkwardness I'd be a Quinn B fan.
