           Well, this book doesn’t age well. There are some subtle racial tones, suggesting that ‘Indian’s’ (refuting to native Americans) are lazy and will “eat you out of house and home. However, the main character heroically chooses to think a different way. 
Christine Bennett redeems her book as she writes, ”I do what I can the moment I can when talking of helping those around us. 

Although maybe that's my 2020 lense.
