I won this book in a Goodreads Giveaway.

This collection of short stories was a great book to pick up for a little bit in between other reads. I can definitely see myself going back and reading some of the stories when it is actually winter and feels thematically appropriate.

Why am I reading this is June in the first place? This is the part where I feel terrible to the author and understand partly why Goodreads has limited giveaways to US only now. Gordon-Bouvier has no fault in my book arriving in June instead of December and she actually posted the giveaway in the fall -perfect timing for it to be shipped out, arriving at my door and sitting on my shelf to read over the winter holidays with a nice cup of hot chocolate. Very thoughtful.

I found out Goodreads was no longer going to post giveaways outside of the US shortly after I won this book and I was a little bit upset. If the author is willing to do an international giveaway, why not? I never had problems with giveaways I won in Canada. This is the first (and sadly only) book I've won since moving to South Korea. Then a couple weeks passed. And a couple more. Winter in the North still wasn't here. I was in contact with the GR team and they were in contact with the author and it was all just a big hassle for everyone. 

If this giveaway was an author from the US sending to a reader in the US, there would still be a shipping fee, but it would be far less than literally shipping a book around the world. And this is all in hopes to maybe get a review and a rating which is a lot of time and money thrown out the window if the person never writes a review.

Now, this is more of a review of the Korean Customs service than the book, but I wanted to acknowledge the GR team for being the go-between for my book to get here and I especially want to thank Gordon-Bouvier for being so patient.
