What a fun graphic novel!
I always find it odd that they do graphic novel adaptations of popular franchises, since they don't add anything to the story. So, how great that with the Lunar Chronicles they decided to do a graphic novel of everyone's favorite escort droid.
We get to revisit the world and the characters we all know and love, and hang out with them a bit longer.
I really enjoyed the story and I can't wait for more!

I'm seriously SO SAD this series is over now. I mean, I've officially read everything for this series and that just makes me SAD because this series is SO GOOD.
I loved this graphic novel just as much as the first. I adore Iko, and I loved how this book questioned humanity and what it means to be human; to FEEL. It was great. I wanted more couples (especially from Winter and Jacin) but overall, such a wonderful read and a great way to end this series. 
One side note: did anyone else think Cress looked strange? I could never tell if it was Cress or Jacin; a couple times I thought it was a stranger. Everyone was drawn beautifully but she was my one exception. 
ANYWAY, I'll be over here hugging my books in sadness. Hopefully we get SOMETHING more in the future because I need these couples forever and ever!

The engaging format will expose this series to a whole new reading audience. This is the first in a series. I borrowed this book from my public library.

This is the second volume of the graphic novels based on Meyer's Lunar Chronicles books. I think readers will enjoy these graphic novels that most if they have read all of the Lunar Chronicles books since these feature all of the characters from them. That being said, this graphic novel was action packed and will keep readers engaged throughout their reading. I enjoyed it. I borrowed the book from the public library.

Original Review: Four years ago, I picked up a book called Cinder and over the years I fell head over heels in love with The Lunar Chronicles. After Stars Above was published, everyone thought 'well that's it'. The end of the Rampion gang and their adventures. Or was it? Suddenly, Marissa announced she was writing a graphic novel with Iko as main focus, and let's just say lots of people lost their minds, myself included.

Wires and Nerve takes place after the events of Winter. Cinder/Selene is now queen of Luna, and all is well. But then, Cinder receives news that rogue packs of Lunar Special Operatives are still at large on Earth, wreaking havoc everywhere. Iko decides to travel to Earth to hunt down these packs and bring them back to Luna. But then, a new threat arises.

I am a huge fan of graphic novels and comics, and I love it when books I enjoyed get turned into graphic novels (still waiting for Harry Potter, to be honest). So yes, I was very excited to get my hands on this one, though when I finally did I wanted to save it for as long as I could. Obviously, I didn't, and I ended up finishing the book in two days. And stars above it was beautiful.

The story was great, and for me it didn't feel like it was trying to drag out the original story too much. We got more information on several things that people were probably wondering about after the end of Winter and Stars Above, and I personally enjoyed finding it out in a book rather than finding it out through an interview or a blog post (no shade towards authors to do this, though).

Just revisiting all the characters I fell in love with was incredible, and I loved that we finally got to see what they looked like. Though of course, this is still one person's view on the characters, and it is by no means 'canon'. For example, even though it was clearly described in the books, I never pictured Jacin as a blonde. (I do now, of course, because I did kind of adopt Doug's view of the characters). For me, they all looked almost exactly like I imagined, and I was glad that someone else saw them like this too.

Which brings me to the artwork. It was simple, with only blue tones, white and black used. I am very easily pleased with artwork, but I have to admit my favourite ones are still the very simple ones. Personally I would have loved some little read details, just like the book covers, but I already loved the blue tones very much. Honestly there literally wasn't anything I could think of that I didn't like about this book, other than the fact that it ended.

For me, Wires and Nerve was a great success, and I will certainly reread this graphic novel after rereading the Lunar Chronicles (which I honestly felt like doing again, even though I literally just reread them). If you're not entirely sure you want to read this novel, you can check out an excerpt here. If you love the Lunar Chronicles as much as I do, what are you waiting for, go and pick up this novel! Even if you're not a huge fan of graphic novels, just give it a try!

I loved this completely! I loved having Iko as the main character. She made this graphic novel so fun. I loved seeing my favorite couple multiple times through this book: Cress and Thorne. This was so much fun and I can't wait for #2.

2.5 stars | This was super disappointing :/ I love The Lunar Chronicles and I was so happy to get to read about the characters again, but ehhh. It felt as though these were not the same characters at all, the plot was pretty lacking, and I didn't really enjoy the artwork.

Woo! More Lunar Chronicles! The series remains my favourite out of my year of YA reading as who doesn't like scifi fairy tale retellings? Wires and Nerves takes place directly after the books end, dealing with the fallout of the Lunar war on Earth. The wolf soldiers who were sent to Earth are murdering people, and Cinder must stop the chaos before the fledgling peace between the Moon and Earth is shattered. However, given that Lunars are still so mistrusted (and dealing with a good number of their own issues), Cinder can't send a bunch of mages down to deal with the wolf solders. Cue Iko, her even loyal, kickass robot friend, who proceeds to start cleaning up the mess left after the war. But there's one wolf who throws a wrench into her plans, starting a revolt against the new Lunar Queen!

Wires and Nerves feels just like the previous stories in the series. The characters are the same, the dialogue feels familiar, and I like taking the approach of starting up directly after the major events are over. On the other hand, was a graphic novel really the best format for this story? It's not that I don't enjoy my comics, but Wires and Nerves Volume One doesn't feel like a cohesive story. It reads like the first few chapters of a new book. The end point isn't really fulfilling, and the plot is moving faster than perhaps is best because of the format. I'm not overly fond of the art style (honestly, everyone looks a bit too same-y other than their shading), and the story isn't more visually oriented than any of the others. 

I'm also a bit wary of the scifi elements of this book. Though it pains me to admit, the original series was weak on this aspect as well. It's not that things were objectively wrong, but that so much of the world was so unfleshed out that it was hard to figure out how the world worked at all. But the plot flowed on without too many hiccups, even if I didn't really understand how their spaceships managed to travel as fast as they did... Wires and Nerves, on the other hand, centers on the scifi aspects. This is a series that is dealing very directly with the idea of whether or not Iko is a person or an object. And... it's pretty ham-fisted so far. It's strange that Iko feels such strong emotions. She acts entirely like a human character and is upset that people doesn't seem to understand her when NO OTHER ROBOT IS LIKE HER. There's a throwaway comment that perhaps any other robots with such a human personality are destroyed, but Meyer is wading into a very popular scifi trope and I'm not sure she has anything new to offer. 

I'm also irked that the story is setting up for another standard hetero romance. All the love stories that Meyers writes are deadly cute, but also... pretty much the same thing time and time again. 

So, in the end, Wires and Nerves is a very fitting addition to the Lunar Chronicles. On the other hand, it's not anything new yet, nor is it giving readers much of a story. A good read for fans, but not as weighty as the books, and the flaws of the series seem a bit more prevalent in this format.

Gone Rogue is the conclusion to Wires and Nerves, a graphic series that takes place after the end of the Lunar Chronicles. Considering how much I love these characters, it was great to see more of them trying to deal with the fallout of the events of the books. The story in Wires and Nerves is fast, fun, and funny, and it gives voice to characters that didn't get enough attention in the series proper. Gone Rogue feels a bit overloaded though. I think a third volume would have let Meyer really dig into a few of the concepts she was playing with, like the sentience of Iko. However, definitely a must read for fans of the series and a decent conclusion to this adventure!

Estas novelas gráficas son una especie de spin-off (serie derivada) de la saga principal de las Crónicas Lunares. 
Me encantó reencontrarme con mis personajes favoritos de esta saga. Aunque haya terminado Winter, el último libro de la saga, hace poco tiempo (diciembre), ya extrañaba a los personajes y sus aventuras. Esta saga es mi favorita, tiene un lugar en mi corazón. 

La historia que cuentan estas novelas es lo que le faltó a la saga principal. Cuando terminé la saga, nunca me puse a pensar que era lo que había pasado con los híbridos que habían quedado en la Tierra. Y, cuándo empecé la primera novela gráfica, me dí cuenta de que faltaba resolver ese detalle de la historia principal.
Al tratarse de una novela gráfica, el problema que se plantea en los libros se resuelve rápidamente. Aún así, me pareció un buen cierre y no tengo quejas. 

Me encantaron estos libros. La historia está narrada desde el punto de vista de Iko y también nos cuenta un poco más sobre el pasado de este personaje secundario de la saga. Iko es un personaje que nunca me llamó mucho la atención (simplemente me parecía simpática), pero después de leer estos libros se volvió uno de mis  favoritos <3. También pude conocer mejor a Kinney, que en el primer libro no me cayó muy bien, pero en el segundo me convenció, ya que hizo todo lo posible por enmendar el error que había cometido con Iko :).

I’m a bit torn about this one. I enjoyed the story and am looking forward to finding out more about the aftermath of the lunar chronicles. However, I didn’t like the art style very much. I’m not sure why they did the whole thing in tones of blue, I would have preferred black and white if they couldn’t do full color. I also found the characters looked very different from what I pictured. I will still read the next one because I’m curious but this didn’t impress me as much as I had hoped.

I really enjoyed this a lot! It was so nice to see my favorites again. And Iko is just so fantastic! I loved seeing her shine in this book. It took me a couple pages to get into the story, but once I did, I had such a good time reading.
