QUEER APOCALYPSE MEDIA I LOVE YOU! wasn’t predictable, i gasped a lot lol

           Good 3,5 stars for me. Just not the 4 cuz zombie apocalypses aren't really my thing but I like the twist they put on it.

The first half of the book was hard for me to get into. And although I loved the romance, it did feel a bit rushed. I would've liked more things to have developed before Cooper turned.

But I did really like the last half of the book, it turned more into mystery type thing which I like a lot. And will definitely read the second book when it comes out!!

I’m so sad about this book because the cover is so pretty & the premise could’ve been so interesting but the writing is rushed, unedited and unenjoyable to read in almost every way. The pacing is so off that it’s almost impossible to feel anything for the characters because there’s absolutely zero depth. There are no stakes, no emotions that go beyond surface level; the dialogue is stilted and unnatural. Wranglestone is told from the perspective of a sixteen year old boy, but it reads like it was written by someone ten years younger. I couldn’t get into it at all, and there are so many mistakes in the actual writing and punctuation that any immersion I might have felt was ruined. I’m so disappointed because I was so excited to read this and although it did have some sweet moments it was genuinely painful to get through ;-;

Wow, full review coming soon. It started slow (can’t tell if it was bc of my reading slump tho) but something clicked out 120/130 pages in and from there I read it in about a day flat. Proper solid book, i can’t wait to see whats next! Keep an eye out for this author, I can tell this books going to be well loved hopefully

I really enjoyed this one! Very fast paced however it was easy to keep up with what was going on. Our main characters were great, very likeable and sweet too. Great to see even more LGBTQ+ representation in YA novels, especially with an exciting story. I do feel perhaps the fact it was so fast paced may have taken away from big plot points, however this didn’t deter me from liking the story and like I said, keeping up with the plot.

I wasn’t sure what I would think of this book because I have never read anything like it ever but I loved it! It was heartwarming, gripping and everything in between! I am so glad to find out there is a second book coming this year because I really enjoyed the writing style and the characters!

I had such a great time reading this book!

I think Charlton struck the perfect cord tonally--somehow light, yet giving gravity at the right moment--and I adored Peter & Cooper.

I do think there are areas that could've been fleshed out more--seeing more of Peter & Cooper together, more time outside the islands to see how bad everything was, more characters on the islands, etc., etc... but the thing is... I still really loved this book, even knowing some things could've been done better.

Honestly, it was just so nice to read a queer zombie book and feel joy. The change of pace as an LGBTQ+ was amazing. Also: the cover art is STUNNING.

Where do I even start? I loved this book from the beginning to the end. I personally thought the plot was intriguing and the twists and turns had me on edge. It was the perfect amount of dark and spooky whilst being sweet and such a lovely love story. I finished this in just over a day, and that's unheard of for me, I could not put it down. Would recommend for anyone who's a fan of LGBTQ romance and sci-fi/horror-esque plot lines.
