This book was recommended by a few people and we were a bit disappointed in it. I think at its core it’s a helpful overview of the changes to expect and what age. 

However we found ourselves looking for leap signs all the time rather than just assuming our daughter had a bad day. Even with the dreaded leap 4, we never really saw a clear cluster of days where she was showing signs and if we hadn’t read the book I think we wouldn’t have noticed anything at all besides the mental growth she did. So to a degree I think this book encourages you to look for things that might also not be there. On the other hand, I can imagine that if they are there with your kid, it’s comforting to know what is happening. 

A second big comment I’d have is that the chapters are very repetitive. For example, apart from a fe changes, the list of signs is pretty much the same for all leaps. A list of the things to look for like they worked with in leap 10 rather than also providing a repetitive explanation in all of the previous chapters would have made for better digestion of the book. 

All in all, I’d recommend a read, because the helpful parts still outweigh the problems with it.
