Arslan is the teenage prince of the ancient kingdom of Pars, who doesn't seem to have what it takes to be a great ruler like his father. A fateful encounter with a slave from the neighbouring country of Lusitania leads Arslan to question the world outside of the royal capital's walls, but before he can indulge his curiosity, war breaks out. Arslan is rushed off to his first war, only to see his kingdom crumble in front of his eyes. This series of events leads the young Arslan on a journey to reclaim his lost kingdom.

Political intrigue, villainy, and grand humor. At this point in the series it feels like the cast is all on stage and the setup of the situation has been established allowing for the action to commence. As the stakes raise and we see further detail on the characters I feel more invested and look forward to seeing where it goes from here.

Arslan’s army has returned with a new resolve to turn back the Tūrа̄nian forces besieging Peshawar. Though they have succeeded in foiling each attempt to invade the city walls, the Tūrа̄nian king’s brazen murder of innocent Lusitanian farmers has earned the ire of the young prince. His colorful crew of generals and mercenaries are in for a challenge as Arslan is determined to ride into battle himself to end the senseless violence...
