While the author's candid exploration of personal anguish evokes empathy, the narrative falters in its delivery. The prose tends toward telling rather than showing, robbing the reader of an immersive emotional experience. Though flashes of poetic metaphor illuminate the pages, they fail to resonate fully, feeling more like disembodied stylistic flourishes than organic expressions of the narrator's internal landscape. Ultimately, the authentic pain that clearly fueled this work struggles to transcend the limitations of the writing itself, leaving one admiring the author's vulnerability while yearning for a more skillful rendering of such weighty subject matter.

Her first book “Your Soul is A River” was one of my fav poetry book. However this one, I have to say that while I enjoy and feel connected to a lot of the poems, the rest was feel a bit more repetitive and not really connected with me.

But, I have to say that this collection is wild, loud and empowering. It talks very openly about abused and mental illness. All respect and I admire her bravery. I know and I am sure that a lot of people will feel empowered by reading this :)
