In this masterpiece of the sexual Gothic, Yukio Mishima creates a portrait ofobsessive love and corrosive jealousy among a young widow, her father-in-law, and a domestic servant.

Simon Elliott Stegall

Mishima's second novel; moments of his coming genius shine through, but overall its a youthful and uneven effort.

I absolutely adore how brutally honest Mishima’s writing is. He has mastered the art of metaphors as well. Definitely one of my top authors!!!
