I usually do not find a lot of value in most education books, unfortunately. However, once in a while a book like this comes along. 
Hammond crafted an absolute masterpiece. Every educator should be required to read and study this book.
So much of education deals with the brain so teachers should understand how the brain works, how students best learn. Too often, the cultural component has gotten shafted. 
I got so much from this book that I plan to put into practice when I return to teaching in whatever format that may take.
All educators need to read this. Every single one.
