AHHH this was amazing! I'm BEOND pumped for part two, I need it now! I had such high expectations for this and it was even better, I already love the characters! GILLY IS MY FAVORITE PERSON! I'm honestly so exited for part 2 and so proud of Sasha, and Lindsay!!! It was great!!

3.5

I actually read this in under an hour. AND IT WAS SO GOOD. It was a fantastic set up for the coming additions to the novel and I'm one stoked reader. When I heard this was actually happening I experienced a mixture of curiosity and dread to be completely honest. I didn't know what to expect. As we got the synopsis and were hearing more about the plot I got more excited. What girl wouldn't totally eat up the idea of a kick ass all female gang of morally ambiguous space pirates!?!?? Yes, exactly. Not one. The crew is fantastic, the enemies are fantastic, and the fantastical space world we are introduced to is magnificent as far as I can tell. I weirdly loved so much how bloodthirsty these characters are, because the shit they do is insane and awful but in order to survive....like what the fuck else are you supposed to do. I feel like I've never read from the perspective of someone who is so honest when it comes to something like brutal slaughtering in order to stay on the run and it was awesome. This book is already incredibly action packed so we know we have so many more fight scenes and massacres on the way. I watched one of Sasha's latest videos before reading this (because if i'm being completely honest I forgot it had been released this month until I watched that video.) And she goes on to say that although it is obviously a story deeply rooted in the science fiction genre, it reads quite like a fantasy and it definitely does in my opinion. The writing is descriptive and whimsical almost?? It's a very fantastical situation, everyone is kind of just thrown into this crazy adventure and although it hasn't really begun in this first part, the getting there was so jam packed full of action and mystery and backstory and the roiling boiling feeling you get in your stomach when you know the story you just dove into is going to be a good one and these characters are only going to grow with time and they are going to break your heart and there will be gasping and laughing and hilarious banter and crying probably too. So basically what i'm trying to say is this is going to be an awesome journey and I'm really proud of Sasha and Lindsey for coming together and creating this for us. Writing is something I have always wanted to do, I have a real passion for it, and having been a subscriber to Sasha ever since I discovered BookTube and forming that odd, familiar, one-sided friendship with her that I tend to do with most online personalities, this happening...makes my dream look realistic in a way?? Anyways, I'm gushing so yeah let's wrap this up. Good stuff. excited for the parts to come. Really hope we get a physical copy because I want this gorgeous silvery cover on my shelves haha J.D Netto did good.

This book was an epic set up to what promises to be an epic series. It was definitely a set up though. That's why I took a star off. The writting was amazing and I couldn't tell that it was written by two different people and I really like that. I'm excited to read the rest of the series.

For a so-called badass I think Androma is kinda weak, and I couldn't stop comparing her to Celaena Sardothien from Throne of Glass, except she's in space... I'll still read the next parts tho:)

I enjoyed this WAY more than I originally thought I would. (ETA: I didn't really know anything about it other than space pirates and who wrote it, it's not that I wasn't expecting much, it's that I wasn't sure what to expect. And it greatly exceeded any non-expectations that I had.) It's really well written and easy to read, and completely left me wanting more. I actually really love the serial novel thing, with smaller parts being published closer together than a regular series. I'm really looking forward to reading the rest of this series. I would definitely recommend this for someone looking for a quick space-y read. Really compelling. Can't wait for the next instalment! (For my Europe journal: I read this in one sitting, in my hotel room in Budapest.)

I read in this book in a very small time and considering it's a small book , reviewing it seems a little hard but the two of the authors did a pretty good job. I have never read any of lindsay's book before and it was also the debut book of sasha and I was pretty impressed with this book. I love sasha and her videos on 'abookutopia' and it was nice reading her book. now coming on to the book, I think that the some plot was taken from Sarah j. maas's throne of glass series but on the other hand, it will be wrong to judge the book before reading the second part of it. so I 'm definitely excited to grab a copy next year and really can't wait to read it. and to be honest, this is my first time reading a sci-fi book and I really enjoyed and I'm hoping to read more of it in the future and looking forward to grab lindsay's book also.
