I started my zero waste journey at the beginning of this year. And it has been really great! The key is to always be prepared and rethink how you live your day to day life. 

I don’t think one person has do to everything on that book and put their yearly waste in a jar. It depends on the person’s location, time and budget (although I save money there are some areas that require “investments”), but I do think everyone would benefit from trying to minimize their trash. 

Although I disagree with Bea Johnson when she says she is saving time (without ordering take out and ready to eat food I have to cook from scratch) I do agree with the money savings side of it. I struggle as a college student to stay on a tight budget, but since becoming zero waste I have saved a lot of money and easily staying under budget! 

Even if you don’t agree 100% with her method there are some awesome take away from the book. You can also google for many other less wasteful alternatives in your life
